Meet a Va-Va-Voom Wellbeing Coach

Karen Cannon is a self-confessed wisdom guru and self care junkie, which to you and me would be a wellbeing coach. Karen’s choice of words mark her out as a power woman, and to be honest, if I’d have to pick an artist name ‘Karen Cannon’ would actually be a close contender! Basically, Karen is quirky and confident all round and her punchy name really suits her.

Yes, she may be a holistic wellbeing coach, and her instagram feed is superbly light (she’s got a finely tuned aesthetic sense!), but I’m not feeling the ‘woo’ vibe at all. I like that. In fact, Karen is refreshing and straightforward in her style and inspires boldness in her audience. ​

What’s the one thing that you excel at, that you do better than anyone else?

I think it has to be connecting to the heart of people and supporting them to tell their story and follow their dreams, I’m a very social person and I have no problem walking into a room full of strangers and starting a conversation, I enjoy learning about peoples thoughts ideas and life stories.

List the three most important principles you live by

Know your values and dreams and don’t be scared to live by them

You’re not for everyone and that’s ok

Failure and change are two of your best and biggest teachers, learn and grow from them, let them be hurdles to overcome but never stop you in your tracks.

Do you keep hearing the same compliment? What is it?

Yes actually – people always tell me I’m so easy to talk to and brave and confident, although the last two are not always true I’ve just learnt to not let fear stop me from moving forward any more.

Why do people seek you out?

I think maybe because I’m open, to all ideas, possibilities and situations in life. I try hard not to judge people and I’m fascinated by the experiences that others have had – I use that as inspiration and to build on, not as a weapon to use against others, if people do upset me I try to quietly step back and focus on whether the relationship or connection is serving my best interests any more.

List three words that describe you, how do people introduce you?

Good listener, compassionate and always up to something!

What’s the secret sauce you add to your working life?

Being super efficient and organised, it doesn’t always happen but it’s necessity – as a mum of two with multiple projects and work commitments plus a house to run and other life scenarios to attend to I’ve learnt that being laid back and easy breezy doesn’t work for my the early bird catches the worm!

What makes your heart beat faster? What gives you energy?

Adventure, discovering new places and inspiring people plus my beloved crystals – I’m currently studying to be a crystal therapist and working with crystals and using them to balance myself is everything for me.
